Your game is very good BUT

I think you need some consultation in UI Design. The golden rule is be OBVIOUS, as you will not see how dificult it is to use the product becuase you too close. The menus are crowded.

VictorGrunn responds:

Thanks for the feedback. You're 100% correct. I'll be dead honest with you: this was my first code project ever. The menus were even more hideous before I made this, and all the feedback I got was 'Your menus stink'. That's the one thing I've focused heavily on fixing for future games. I fixed them up with the knowledge I had at the time - now I can do vastly better.

One lesson I've learned about this game is UI is extremely important, for the reasons you state.

Your preloader and general character design is off

...because they are essentially modelled on gollywogs! You have fallen into the trap of many other people before you. It is not wrong to think of black people when you think of tribes, because this is what one would find in rural Africa. To characterise features of black people in this way is almost pastiche, paying homage to a form of humour that is now deemed racist.

Your characters, are jet black, with bright red disproportionate lips. This would not offend, or be deemed offensive if they were not based in a tribal setting with words like "Mogo-Mogo" and "Bojo". These words also are seen as Ebon-esque, making your work without doubt, satirical characterisations of black people from rural African/ aboriginal descent.

I know in a world that political correctness is causing limitations of things such as freedom of speech and artistic expression, but this game's general plotline and characters designs is pushing past that line to a point that has been a taboo since racism was made a crime. To put it into context, this is the sort of material that would have circulated in one form or another as propaganda against racial equality.

Sorry for a rather lengthy review, but my thoughts needed to be expressed to justify my scores.
3/5 - Good game design and coding skills.
1/10 - Concept is subliminally derogatory to black people.

KingDotCom responds:

Needless to say, neither the developers nor the sponsor of Mogo-Mogo have any racist intentions or opinions at all. Mogo-Mogo is meant to be a fun experience, and a prequel to the game Little Wheel: the storyline is that it was the Mogo-Mogos that inveted the wheel, and later the robots (hence Little Wheel). The fact that they happen to be black is more of a historical accuracy since all humans were black back in the day when this game takes place (in fact, if we had made them white, THAT would have racist / white supremacy take on it, we think). We hope that you instead join us in the strong belief that Mogo-Mogo is a happy story about an Inventor (Bogo) who uses his intellect to help his people at a time when the wheel was not yet invented. Again, no racist intentions, just a (hopefully) fun point-and-click adventure that we hope that you and others can enjoy for what it is.

K im not saying this is shit....

Old-Tobunshi responds:

The reason you can't call it shit is because your flash is shit and 'lackign entertainment'.
